Small things

Okay, I haven’t been active much on the page, but I have been posting things on Twitter and Tumblr, as well as working on online coursework. I’m not going to post every little thing here, but I would like to share more here than I have been.

I’ve been doing writing and photo exercises to find the Jedi in the mundane. Picture-wise, it’s been finding the simple beautiful things in everyday life. I’ve been writing about small moments – for example, releasing any anger at getting caught in the rain, and transforming it into an enjoyable experience. I’ve been writing through self-exploration exercises in the coursework – maybe at some point I’ll post or excerpt from some of these.

I’ve also been working on internal inspiration by collecting images of what I would envision as “Jedi temple” space. Basically, I remember back when I was looking on old Jedi community pages, that some of the pictures posted around were either taken or inspired by college/university architecture, or even monastery space, and it added a depth and weight to it that’s hard to describe. It was like the page was saying, “we’re serious about our learning.” I also know that internal imagery and architecture can be very useful. Prior meditation work in a druidic setting involved cultivating an internal “sacred grove,” which helped getting to an internal state faster and work in there less abstract. I don’t mind abstract and it definitely has its places. But I’m thinking that setting up an inner temple may be useful.
